Volunteer Spotlight- Sally

Volunteer Spotlight- Sally

“My name is Sally Stearn and I’ve been a Literacy tutor for several years now. I am also the Literacy Coordinator. My older brother had Down syndrome and that’s why I was interested in volunteering with GiGi’s. GiGi’s is one of the best organizations that I have ever been a part of. They exist solely to serve the children and young adults in their care. It is a pleasure to volunteer for them!It is such a good feeling to help children and young adults learn to love reading as I do! Their successes are my successes. I strive to provide them with books and exercises that grab and hold their interest. It gives me so much satisfaction to see my students enjoy the books I’ve created or chosen for them. It makes me happy to see the progress that they continue to achieve.”

Thank you, Sally, for all you do!
