Getting to Know Program Leader from GiGi’s Kitchen

  • Hello everyone! My name is Lexi, I am a 23 year old grad student in Elmhurst University’s Master of Occupational Therapy program. A fun fact about me is that I prefer the summer but I also love snowboarding.
  • I am most looking forward connecting how we, as OT students, will be conducting a Participatory Action Research study with GiGi’s Playhouse. As we learn about research methods within our courses, I am eager to obtain hands-on research experience that benefits both parties.
  • I hope to learn more about how I can apply GiGi’s mission to my own philosophy as a future occupational therapist. With time spent working with individuals that utilize GiGi’s services, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of how I can change the world’s perspective of individuals with Down syndrome and spread a message of acceptance throughout my life and career.
