Ribfest Festivities

Hello to my extended GiGi’s Playhouse Fox Valley Family,

This fourth of July weekend I had an awesome time volunteering at Ribfest. The music, food,        activities,  fireworks and people that I worked with were truly inspiring and interested in the good work    we do here  at GiGi’s Playhouse Fox Valley. For those of you unfamiliar with Ribfest, it is a festival  organized by the  Exchange Club of Naperville, that raises money and public consciousness about what  we can do to  stop child abuse and domestic violence in our local communities.

Numerous volunteers associated with GiGi’s Playhouse Fox Valley, other nonprofit organizations and    local charities volunteered at the beverage tents, recycling booths, game booths and information booths  to make the Ribfest Festivities a great success. It is also important to mention that all the efforts and  time we spent as volunteers at Ribfest has greatly benefited GiGi’s Playhouse Fox Valley because it  provided an opportunity for us to network with other nonprofit organizations (e.g. the Ray Graham    Association, Little Friends and Families Helping Families) and spread the word to laypeople in the  community about what we do here (e.g. early intervention programs, tutoring, advocacy for people born  with Down syndrome etc.) at GiGi’s Playhouse Fox Valley. Looking forward to volunteering at Ribfest on  behalf of GiGi’s Playhouse Fox Valley next year!

Sincerely,

Bailey Skrocki
