November 15- Microsoft

November 15
30 Days of Gratitude
Day 15 (just a little late):
A key relationship in changing the way the world views Down syndrome is Microsoft.  In November 2018, GiGi’s Playhouse announced a partnership of Microsoft to conduct research on using artificial intelligence and machine learning on hypotonia (low muscle tone).  Hypotonia is a major issue for individuals with Down syndrome, impacting speech, fine motor skills like handwriting, and gross motor skills like running or jumping.
While an individual with Down syndrome is able to speak, write, run and jump their body has to work twice as hard.  Microsoft hopes that artificial intelligence could help.  (https://gigisplayhouse.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Microsoft-Partnership-Announcement-REVISED-DRAFT-11.1-RB.pdf)
This has a far reaching impact.  Learn more about the relationship with GiGi’s Playhosue and Microsoft and its impact at: https://video.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?fr=yhs-itm-001&hsimp=yhs-001&hspart=itm&p=GiGi%27s+Playhouse+Microsoft#id=1&vid=84d9341eb3f3a2f7207ed64266f4f182&action=click
