Volunteer Spotlight

Kristin Collins

Kristin came to GiGi’s Playhouse as a literacy tutor for the Spring 2024 term. Kristin is a retired Kindergarten teacher and brought all her experience and enthusiasm with her to GiGi’s. Kristin was paired with Kinley and they immediately bonded. Kinley would arrive for tutoring with a big smile and leave with a bigger smile. Kristin had lots of fun activities for Kinley to support her tutoring and encourage learning. Kinley loved going on “sight word hunts” around the playhouse-looking for colorful notes with sight words but also helped her work on handwriting. Other fun activities were reading about zoo animals and putting a zebra jigsaw puzzle together and creating Valentine cards for her family. Thank you, Kristin, for making learning fun for Kinley. We hope you see you back in the playhouse!
