LMNOP ages 0-3

LMNOP is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication using music and language based activities.  This program is for individuals with Down syndrome ages Birth to 3 years.

All those interested in volunteering at the Playhouse should please attend this Volunteer Orientation session. You will learn more about GiGi’s Playhouse, receive important information, and be matched with the volunteer activities that interest you. We have something for everyone!

Leaps & Bounds ages 3-5

Leaps & Bounds is a program for 3-5 year old’s that will help promote social, emotional, & large and small muscle group development. Children will participate in fun and engaging activities that require movement and interaction with their environment.

Family Speaker Series – Janis Meredith

Janis Meredith is a family life coach in South West Florida.

Janis Meredith is a family coach with Raising Champion Families. She partners with parents by giving them tools to raise children who are strong, compassionate, trustworthy and full of integrity–a family of champions!

Fantastic Friends ages 18+

Fantastic Friends is a fun night out to facilitate social interaction between adults with Down syndrome and their peers and the community. This program supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a fun casual setting.

Destination Discovery all ages

Destination Discovery supports the development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, social skills and language through purposeful play and peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program also brings families together to share experiences and build relationships. All ages welcome.

Art Explosion – Summer Edition ages 12+

Art Explosion is an art program designed to provide hands on experience with multiple art media and provide an outlet for individuals with Down syndrome to express themselves, build confidence, and socialize with peers. Our summer edition will expand to include ages 12+.

Goals include:
*Provide healthy outlet for adults to express themselves
*Build self-confidence
*Promote positive peer interactions and socialization
*Gain experience with multiple art projects

Open Play ages 12 and under

This program invites families and their friends to the Playhouse for playtime! Open Play helps promote positive beginnings for new families with a child with Down syndrome, creates awareness opportunities for peers and friends, as well as support and networking for current families.Come ready for fun and a crazy good time! Open to families with children ages 12 and under and their friends

Yoga ages 3-10

GiGi’s yoga program is designed to help individuals with Down syndrome develop healthy habits for a lifetime of wellness and happiness. Yoga teaches practice and routine that integrates physical, mental and emotional development. The yoga program will help individuals with Down syndrome develop more personal awareness and learn specific strategies to maintain focus and manage their emotions and impulses.

In yoga, we will work on the following:
*Develop body awareness
* Learn how to use their bodies in a healthy way
* Manage stress through breathing, awareness, meditation and healthy movement
* Build concentration
* Increase their confidence and positive self-image
* Feel part of a healthy, non-competitive group
* Following directions for movements

Each class is 45 minutes. 30 minutes of yoga and 15 minutes for a healthy snack.
