LMNOP ages 0-3

LMNOP is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication using music and language based activities.  This program is for individuals with Down syndrome ages Birth to 3 years.

Volunteer Orientation

All those interested in volunteering at the Playhouse should please attend this Volunteer Orientation session. You will learn more about GiGi’s Playhouse, receive important information, and be matched with the volunteer activities that interest you. We have something for everyone!

Family Speaker Series – Dominique Gasdia

Janis Meredith is a behavioral therapist in South West Florida.

 Miss Gasdia is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with an extensive background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).  She has a Masters degree in Psychology with a concentration in ABA.  She has been dedicated to working with individuals with autism, and other developmental disabilities for over 30 years.  She began working for Eden Autism Services in Princeton, NJ where she continued providing service for 25 years.  Her experience ranges from working with young children, and their families, to adults who live in community group home settings.  After 17 years working as a Direct Support Professional, she was promoted to Behavior Specialist where she was responsible for the development, training, and implementation of all Behavior Support Plans.  Most of the individuals she has served are on the severe end of the autism spectrum.  Miss Gasdia is extremely well-versed in developing comprehensive behavior support plans, and in training staff, parents, care givers, and teachers on its implementation.  She currently works for Elite DNA Therapy Services here in Fort Myers as an RBT working with children with autism, ADHD, and Downs Syndrome.  Miss Gasdia is in the process of becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Fantastic Friends ages 18+

Fantastic Friends is a fun night out to facilitate social interaction between adults with Down syndrome and their peers and the community. This program supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a fun casual setting.

Bring a friend (they don’t have to have Down syndrome).

Destination Discovery all ages

Destination Discovery supports the development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, social skills and language through purposeful play and peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program also brings families together to share experiences and build relationships. All ages welcome.

Art Explosion – Summer Edition ages 12+

Art Explosion is an art program designed to provide hands on experience with multiple art media and provide an outlet for individuals with Down syndrome to express themselves, build confidence, and socialize with peers. Our summer edition will expand to include ages 12+.

Goals include:
*Provide healthy outlet for adults to express themselves
*Build self-confidence
*Promote positive peer interactions and socialization
*Gain experience with multiple art projects

Open Play ages 12 and under

This program invites families and their friends to the Playhouse for playtime! Open Play helps promote positive beginnings for new families with a child with Down syndrome, creates awareness opportunities for peers and friends, as well as support and networking for current families.Come ready for fun and a crazy good time! Open to families with children ages 12 and under and their friends

CrossFit ages 6-12

Please join us at HYTE CrossFit (a few doors down from the Playhouse) for a fun work out brought to you by Hyte Crossfit and their trained cross-fit instructors. We will be ending the workout at the Playhouse with a healthy snack. This is a program suitable for children with Down syndrome ages 6 to 12.

Please RSVP below for the child attending.

Each class is one hour. A take home snack will be provided at the end of the class.
