Jumping Back into Free Summer Programming at GiGi’s Playhouse

With school out for the summer and everyone looking for some fun activities to beat the heat, GiGi’s Playhouse Des Moines is a great place to go. From weekly programs, to daily kids camp, our playhouse has programming for every age and ability, birth through adulthood. Of course, families, friends, and caretakers are encouraged to join in the fun!

This summer, GiGi’s Kitchen Kids (5-12 years) is a program that introduces kids to cooking skills, safety procedures, and delicious new foods. GiGiFIT Kids (5-12 years) focuses on nutrition and fitness!

Meanwhile, Language, Music, N’ Our Peeps (0-3 years) targets language exposure through movement and music, while  Leaps & Bounds (3-5 years) is all about building relationships and kindergarten prep! We continue the fun with Playhouse Pals (6-8 years), which focuses on social skills and making friends.

We even have a program this summer just for teens called Teen Tastic (13-17 years), which meets approximately every other week to hang out and get to know each other through activities and occasional visits from community organizations.

If you have an adult in your life who loves cooking, music, fitness, or all of the above, every Tuesday from 10:30-1:30, the playhouse hosts GiGi’s Kitchen Adult, Karaoke, and GiGi FIT back-to-back for the participants.

Unfortunately, since the COVID-19 pandemic, less families and volunteers are taking advantage of the free, in-person and virtual programs we offer. If you are interested in participating or volunteering, please check out our program calendar or stop by the playhouse anytime M-F 10:00-2:30. We’d love to have you here!

Sincerely,

Sara Petersen
