Des Moines GiGi’s Gift Shoppe Interns Are Making a Difference a State Away!

Our Gift Shoppe interns worked very hard in June to make inspirational American art for the 4th of July. They created and sold three pallet flags! Michael, Trinity, and Joel sanded, painted, modge-podged, and antiqued all three pieces! They also put their sales and social media skills to work in order to sell their works of art. Their posts caught the eye of one out-of-stater and she sent her local son and volunteer Patrick in to make the purchase! Patrick has been tutoring for GiGi’s for the last two sessions, and he is also on the walk committee. Patrick was inspired to become a volunteer at GiGi’s when his sister gave birth to a little girl with Down syndrome named Hazel! Patrick’s sister Janna posted the photo above of her whole family with the caption “We love the flag!! It looks great in Kansas. Thank you Trinity!!” on her facebook. Way to go Trinity, Michael, and Joel!!
