Friday Friends Firsts!

This past Friday evening was full of firsts here at GiGi’s!  We had several 1st Time Volunteers for Friday Friends, we had a 1st Time Activity of planting Flowers, and we had a 1st Time Family attend!

From one of our first time at Friday Friends families who have volunteered said, “My first initial impression of Friday Friends is that it’s pretty amazing. The adults have so much fun!”

Our new volunteer, Ruth, said, “I had a great time on Friday night.  As it turns out I knew several of the young adults from Special Olympics or other places. I felt that everyone made a great team and can’t wait to volunteer again.”

For our 1st time Special Activity we painted and planted!  It was a BLAST!!  Participants decorated clay pots, filled them with dirt, choose a flower to plant, and enjoyed each other’s company on this nice evening!  Of course, there was still a party happening inside GiGi’s with karaoke, wii, air hockey, basketball and more!

I’m so glad to see adult activities. So many times, they are left out; so, it is refreshing that Gigi’s House is making every effort to include them in fun and interesting ways!!
