Volunteer Spotlight – Sydney

We want to welcome our new Leaps & Bounds Lead, Sydney, to our team! We are so excited for her energy and ideas as she leads our 3-5 year olds and helps them prepare for school! Read on to learn more about her!

What made you decide to begin volunteering at GiGi’s Playhouse?

I decided to volunteer at GiGi’s Playhouse because I have always been happiest when working with children and their families. When the pandemic began and my schedule slowed down, I figured it was the perfect time to bring more of that joy into my life!

Tell us more about yourself!

I was born and raised in Michigan and moved to Cleveland in 2019 to study Speech and Language Pathology at Case Western Reserve University.  I have loved getting to know Cleveland by way of my stomach and some of my favorite local places to visit with friends are Humble, the Fairmount, and  Market Garden! In the summer, I love to return home to explore northern Michigan and enjoy the great lakes! I am an avid reader and runner and have a cat named Phinneas who I am sure you will all see on my screen at some point! At GiGi’s Playhouse, I lead Leaps and Bounds and assist in LMNOP. While I am new to GiGi’s, I feel so welcomed by this wonderful community and look forward to seeing my new friends at GiGi’s every month!

What is your favorite song to dance to?

Anything by Gwen Stefani or Shake My Sillies Out by Raffi!
