Welcome Anna & Allie! Rush OT Capstone Students

Meet Anna! Pictured Left

Hello! My name is Anna Parker and I am a third-year Occupational Therapy student at Rush University. I am spending 14 weeks at GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago to complete my doctoral capstone project. For my project, I will be running a health and wellness program with the goal of increasing self-determination and healthy habits for individuals with Down syndrome. In the program, we will cover topics including healthy eating, how to make exercise fun, practicing mindfulness, the importance of rest and leisure, and we will offer lots of opportunities for social participation. I’m so excited to begin the program!

Meet Allie! Pictured Right

Hello families from GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago! My name is Allie, and I am a third-year student in the Occupational Therapy (OT) Program at Rush University! I am excited to be spending my next 14-weeks at the Playhouse and cannot wait to meet you all. While at the Playhouse, I will be exploring the redesign of spaces to increase accessibility to all using Universal Design principles. I look forward to seeing and working with many of you within programs and working on the redesign of workspaces to increase accessibility, comfort, and participation within the Playhouse!
