Thank You, Zhenya!

Earlier this year, GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago underwent a board transition, and we would like to highlight some achievements of our former president, Zhenya!

Zhenya (Evguenia) Popova has been dedicated to GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago for over 10 years. In 2020, she took on the role of president. During her presidency, she was our captain as she steered us through a pandemic and drove us into an award-winning Playhouse. Under her leadership over the last four years, our playhouse has undergone significant development and growth. She has provided program expansion for our participants and families, professional development to our board of 16, staff, and GiGi’s professionals, and continuous support to our families.

We recognize and appreciate Zhenya’s hard work in bringing our Playhouse to its current position. She has inspired us to believe in the positive change we can bring about. Her devotion to changing the way the world views Down syndrome is infectious and has had a profound impact on everyone who has been a part of our Playhouse. We are extremely grateful for her unwavering commitment and dedication to the Down syndrome community. GiGi’s is truly lucky to have had Zhenya as our president and continues to be fortunate to have her on our board as Governance Co-Chair! Thank you Zhenya, for all the support you have given us throughout the years!
