Celebrating Community and Support: Recap of the GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge 5k

On behalf of everyone at GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your incredible support during our recent Chicago GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge 5k, 1 mile walk, and Dash for Down syndrome that we hosted last Saturday! It was truly an unforgettable day, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you who contributed to making it a success.

With just over 340 participants joining us to champion global acceptance in Lincoln Park, the love and support we felt was overwhelming. It was inspiring to see 25 dedicated fundraising teams formed by our Playhouse families, going above and beyond to ensure our programs remain free for our community!

A special thank you goes out to our new Playhouse families who attended our GiGiFIT event for the first time! Your presence and enthusiasm enriched our event, and we’re thrilled that you felt the warmth of our community.

None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our amazing volunteers, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly. Your hard work and commitment are the backbone of our organization, and we cannot thank you enough for all that you do!

A special shout-out goes to Target for their generous support! Not only did they provide all the snacks and water for the event, but their employees were also on hand to lend a helping hand throughout the day. Additionally, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our event sponsors (below) who believe in our mission of acceptance and inclusion.

While the event day was a great success, our fundraising journey continues. We are only $10,400 away from our goal of $55,000, and every contribution brings us closer to providing crucial support to our families. If you would like to contribute or know someone who might, please consider making a donation today!

Be sure to check out more event photos on our Facebook page! Families and volunteers, feel free to share your event day memories and tag us in your photos on social media to spread the love even further!
