We know its a crazy time of year, running around as Santa’s helper, planning vacations (and school time off), dancing with sugar plum fairies, etc. But January is right around the corner, and with it comes our Winter Session. Beginning in January, we’re offering:
Little Fingers, Big Plans (ages 3-6): a 6-week fine motor skills class emphasizing art, handwriting development and building social skills. Created and taught by occupational therapists and supported by the Girl Scouts at St. Benedict’s school. Class size limited to 8 students. Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m., Jan 17- Feb 21.
Busy Hands, Bigger Plans (ages 7-12): Similar in structure and design to our Little Hands class, but geared toward older students. Class size limited to 8 students. Wednesdays from 4-5 p.m., Jan 18- Feb 2.
Teen Drama Class (ages 13-18): Build confidence, articulation and poise while fostering social skills through theater and improvisation-based games. During the winter term the troupe will work on scenes from another Shakespeare masterpiece, with a performance in late May. Class size limited to 15 students. Fridays from 5:30 – 7 p.m., Jan. 20 – May 11.
Literacy Tutoring (ages 2-1/2 and up): Our signature educational program develops reading skills using a methodology that includes custom flash cards, books and direct instruction. Weekly from Jan 16 – Mar 24. Scheduled according to tutors and student availability.
As always, these programs are offered free of charge, but space may be limited. If you’re interested in any of these programs and have yet to register, e-mail us (chicago@gigisplayhouse.org) for a registration form.
And while we’re speaking of registration….
If you haven’t RSVP’d for the holiday party this week, time is running out. If you’re planning on coming, e-mail us (with the ages and genders of any children coming; we need to check that list), by 5 PM Friday. Reminder: the party is NOT at the Playhouse. It will be at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont. Doors open at 10 a.m., the program starts at 10:30.

Do you own a business? Do you know someone who owns a business? Do you work (or know someone who works) for someone who owns a business? If you answered any “Yes” to any of these questions, perhaps they might consider a marketing opportunity that also supports a great cause.
GiGi’s Playhouse’s International “i have a voice” gala is fast approaching on Feb. 26, and there are plenty of sponsorship opportunities available. It’s a great way for a company to get in front of a very appreciative potential customer base from around the country.
If you know of someone (or are someone) who might be interested in a Gala sponsorship, e-mail us for more information. And if you’re just interested in attending, registration is now open! Just follow this link.
