Spotlighting Stacy Jackson, our Vice President & Secretary
Stacy Jackson and her husband, Rick, were married in 2005 and have seven children, 6 boys and their youngest, a girl, who was born in July 2016 with Down syndrome. Their daughter, Maleah, has changed their perspective on life in so many ways that they are 100% on board with the concept of celebrating that extra chromosome.
Stacy graduated from Kent State University with her bachelor’s degree in sign language interpreting and later from the University of Akron with her master’s in special education. She currently teaches American Sign Language at GlenOak High School and Stark State College. Stacy also works as a video relay interpreter for Purple Communications and volunteers at First Christian Church interpreting services every Sunday.
Stacy has been part of GiGi’s Canton from the very first planning meeting in March of 2017 and currently serves as the Board Vice-President and Secretary. She has chaired several of the fundraising events and has discovered a new love for event planning! “Ladies Night Out with the Cleveland Keys is my absolute most favorite! My goal is to plan events that will raise enough money to keep us going but to also give our supporters a memorable night out that they will look forward to the next year!”
Stacy’s passion for GiGi’s Playhouse stems from witnessing the generosity of the community. “What a humble and amazing feeling it is to witness volunteers give their time and talents and donors who give financially to benefit my daughter and other families who come to the Playhouse. What is there not to love about GiGis?”
She is a ROCK STAR I have always said that. The energy, compassion and her Love for her family and for her GiGi’s family is amazing. Love you Stacy. You are an amazing person . We are so proud of you and so glad you are a part of our family.
