LMNOP (Birth-3 years)

LMNOP is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication using music and language-based activities.  We recommend this program for ages Birth-3 Years.

Special Event – 4th of July Parade Severna Park

Join with GiGi’s Playhouse and DSC friends to walk together in the 4th of July Parade! Bring signs, dress up in red, white, and blue and celebrate together! Meeting time and details coming soon. Leaps & Bounds (3-5 years)

This program focuses on the development of large and small muscle groups. Children will participate in fun and engaging activities that require movement and interaction with their development. Our Leaps & Bounds program is recommended for ages 3-5 year olds.

GiGi’s Adventures Program – Learn to Ride a Bike (2-6 years)
Join our GiGi’s Adventures: Strider Learn to Ride a Bike group for children with Down syndrome ages 2-6. This group will use our new Strider sport balance bikes. A completed/signed Physician Approval Form is required at the first class. This class will meet from 10:30-11:30am for 5 consecutive Mondays, from July 22 – August 19. Class is led by a certified Strider Bike Instructor. Parents must provide a helmet for their own child.

Art Explosion (5-12 years)

A fun Sunday afternoon at the Playhouse creating art and getting together with friends to build, social relationships and increase communication skills in a casual environment. Siblings welcome!

Kids Club (8-12 years)

Kids Club supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program will also support gross motor skills through active games, fine motor, and self-help skills through meal/ snack preparation activities.

YOGA (8-15 years)

To help your child develop healthy habits for a lifetime of wellness and happiness. Yoga gives children a practice and routine that integrates physical, mental and emotional development. Yoga program will help your child develop more personal awareness and learn specific strategies to maintain focus and manage their emotions and impulses.

Relax, breathe and practice some basic poses with our awesome GiGi’s Child Yoga Certified Leader, Maureen! We provide the mat. Wear comfortable clothes.

Teen Tastic (13-18 years)

Teen Tastic  is an interactive and engaging program for teens ages 13 through 18. This program is for teenagers with Down syndrome and those without Down syndrome. We support the development of social skills, fine motor skills, self-help skills, and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program may also support gross motor skills through active games.

Special Activity – Be a Star in GiGi’s Own Music Video (16 years+)

Want to be in A MUSIC VIDEO? We have a fun opportunity for the first 18 people that sign up. Participant must commit to attending ALL 3 dates of filming.

Fantastic Friends (Adults 18+)

Fantastic Friends Program
Our Fantastic Friends program supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual fun setting. Adult participants participate in the planning of activities so that group activities are based on personal interests. During Fantastic Friends, the group may participate in active games, dancing or exploring their local community by participating in outings and events.  We recommend Fantastic Friends for ages 18 years and older.

Fantastic Friends Summer Bowling-Free
Enjoy some summer bowling with your Fantastic Friends. Drop off and pick up at the Annapolis Bowl and play two games on side-by-side lanes with your friends. Lunch will be included. If you child has special dietary needs, please provide the appropriate food. Please RSVP for each week the participant will attend. Limited to 8 adult participants.

DSC Parent Speaker Series

Come to the Playhouse to listen to Lauren Couch, Kennedy Krieger Postdoctoral Fellow. Her presentation will be “Tools for Preventing and Managing Challenging Behaviors”. Be sure to bring your questions! Child care provided.

CPR/First Aid Training – Parents/Volunteers/Caregivers

GiGi’s Playhouse Annapolis has arranged, in partnership with Bello Machre, an opportunity for parents to receive CPR and First Aid Training from a National Safety Council Trainer. The cost is $14.00 per person for a workbook, quick guide book as well as a video. Please bring cash or check. Each attendee will also receive certification cards for both CPR/First Aid. Thank you Bello Machre! Space is limited to 12.

Summer Game Day – All Ages!

Come to Summer Games Day at GiGi’s Playhouse. We will play outside games like corn hole, water balloons, wet sponge toss, fun races, play with hula hoops and much more. We will move inside GiGi’s Playhouse if it rains or is too hot. There will be games for all age participants – littles as well as adults! Join us! Rain or shine!     Your programs and activities are amazing. I volunteer at All Aboard Everett, Washington and watch all you have available to all categories of activities for Downs folks. I was a care giver t o an amazing fella who now participates in some of your activities with his sister (she is a volunteer there) he was my client fir 8 years and I am so thrilled to see him so happy there, my dream is to visit Mark and see GiGi’s Playhouse. Thank you for all you do for Mark and all these very lucky Special people who participate at GiGi’s place. Dawn Hoagland
