A Cause Close to Her Heart

What sets Kim apart is her personal experience as a parent of a child with special needs. This journey has provided her with profound insights into the challenges experienced by families when faced with communication barriers. What Kim brings to GiGi’s goes beyond professional knowledge, as she fosters a holistic approach to therapy. In her own words, Kim expresses her dual role, saying, “As a parent, I understand firsthand the challenges, and as a professional, I bring expertise and empathy.” This statement encapsulates the essence of Kim’s approach – a blend of personal understanding and professional excellence.

Bringing Amina Grace to GiGi’s

Motivated by her unique perspective and a desire to bring quality speech and language services to our community, Kim approached GiGi’s Playhouse Cincinnati with the proposal to implement the Amina Grace Speech & Language 1:1 program. This innovative program, designed to cater to the specific needs of individuals with Down syndrome, has proven to be transformative in enhancing communication skills. In addition to collaborating with GiGi’s Cincinnati, Kim forged a partnership with the University of Cincinnati’s Department of Communication Science & Disorders. This partnership not only allows the program to be offered to a larger number of participants but also creates a unique opportunity for Master’s level students. Under Kim’s supervision, these students gain valuable hands-on experience in the field, contributing to their professional growth while simultaneously enriching the Amina Grace program with fresh perspectives.

Kim recently offered a Family Speaker Event at the Playhouse focused on the basics of communication.

Empowering Caregivers

As a mom of three young kids, Kim embarks on this new adventure to partner with parents and empower them to achieve success in their child’s development. Her personal and professional journey uniquely positions her to guide and support families, fostering an environment where every child can thrive. Her dual role as a parent and professional has not only shaped her approach but has also made her a beacon of support for families navigating the challenges of communication disorders. With Kim, it’s not just about therapy; it’s about understanding, empathy, and empowering parents to be active participants in their child’s developmental journey.

Kim, we are so deeply grateful for your commitment to bringing this opportunity to our Playhouse. You have already opened so many doors, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds. From the entire GiGi’s Cincy family, THANK YOU for giving your time, energy, and expertise to make this dream a reality! Let’s unlock the power of communication together!
