Volunteer of the Month – Hannah!

Hannah is a dedicated program volunteer who helps with two programs at GiGi’s Playhouse Cincinnati–Destination Discovery and Teen Tastic. She is always ready and willing to jump in and assist with activities, and has brought a warm and welcoming presence to each program, forming connections with participants and their families.

Tell us about yourself!

Hello! I am Hannah Ray-Clemens, one of the volunteers who helps with the Destination Discovery and Teen Tastic programs at Gigi’s Playhouse in Cincinnati. I am a transplant to the area, growing up in Southeast Ohio on a sheep farm! I work as a business intelligence analyst for a transportation and logistics company, but in my free time I enjoy reading, gardening, traveling with my husband, and spending time with family. 

What got you involved at GiGi’s Playhouse?

I discovered Gigi’s Playhouse at a Kroger Our Abilities event downtown; having a cousin with Down syndrome and loving working with kids, I thought it was a good fit and signed up.

Why do you love GiGi’s Playhouse?

I love working with the children and teenagers at Destination Discovery and Teen Tastic and witnessing their growth month after month. My favorite activities are making crafts together and cheering on karaoke (with loads of giggles and clapping!). 

What is one thing you’d say to someone interested in volunteering at GiGi’s Playhouse?

If you’re interested in volunteering at Gigi’s Playhouse, I’d encourage you to take the leap and shadow a few programs! There have been several new programs added this year alone and multiple age groups you can volunteer with- so you should be able to find something that aligns with your interests!
