Together we are changing the way people perceive Down syndrome!  #HowDoYouSeeMe

GiGi’s Playhouse is celebrating World Down Syndrome Day with 5 straight days of events celebrating with individuals with Down syndrome and their families.  We will kick it off Saturday night with a Karaoke and Dance party at the JCC Manhattan.  Sunday, we will show off some amazing performances and films at our Brunch and Down Syndrome Film Festival at the Playhouse.  Monday, we invite the whole community, and guests from out of town, to visit the Playhouse, learn a little about Down syndrome, and be together on World Down Syndrome Day.  That evening our adult social club, Bowling Buds, will be continuing the party and spreading awareness at Lucky Strike Bowling.

But the fun doesn’t stop there!  Kirsten DeBear is back at the Playhouse with her popular three part lecture series on working with individuals with Down syndrome (March 22nd, March 23rd, and April 5th at 7PM).  This series will cover Relationship Based Interventions, Stages of Literacy, and Managing Behavior and is great for parents, teachers, professionals, volunteers, and students interested in strategies for enhancing learning!
