Being Part of This Family

As the holiday season starts, I reflect on my one-year anniversary at GiGi’s Playhouse. I am grateful for the connections made and the valuable experiences I have gained from each of you. And I have learned so much!

Some of you may know that my first encounter with GiGi’s was as a literacy tutor several years back. I loved working with the students and their families, but I didn’t experience the full scope of what GiGi’s really is. As Operations Coordinator, I’ve seen remarkable people of all ages doing amazing things – from our little toddlers achieving new feats in GiGiFIT, to our older participants working hard with their tutors. From our teens connecting in Teen Tastic, to our adults skillfully running our Café 21. And, of course, all our volunteers who bring their energy, talent, and exuberance into this space.

Whether you are a family member, a participant or a volunteer, you have made GiGi’s Playhouse a unique place. While I was introducing myself during my first virtual program, a participant welcomed me and explained how GiGi’s is a magical place where people are like family. Let me take this opportunity to THANK YOU ALL for welcoming me so warmly to the family!
