And they told two friends, and so on, and so on…

Who remembers that very old commercial for the shampoo Faberge Organics?  It was actually Heather Locklear (according to Google!) who was close up to the screen talking about how fast the word was spreading about this awesome shampoo…”and they told two friends, and so on, and so on”.  Well, fast forward to 2015 and it’s happening here and now! This time it’s not about a shampoo, it’s about an amazing organization that is changing lives, one individual with Down syndrome at a time. It’s about an organization who lures in loving and talented and generous volunteers each and every day.  This time it’s about GiGi’s Playhouse!

Last time we shared about JoJo and Gina who dashed over to the Playhouse to bring gifts to give to our children at our Holiday Party. Well that was but a beginning to a wonderful story of giving.  JoJo and Gina told their close friend Joann about us and she then decided that she would buy all the paper goods for our Holiday Party. The next day a big bag of plates, napkins, cups, and table cloths arrived!  Joann then told her mother about us and her mom decided she would donate a large pile of beautiful homemade knitted and crocheted hats and scarves and a poncho that she originally made to sell at a craft show! Then a couple of days after that Craig and Laura saw that we admired a toy on the GiGi’s Hillsborough, NJ Facebook page and decided to buy it for our Playhouse!

The kindness and generosity continued at our Holiday Party when the Girl Scout Troop in Ardsley and other amazing volunteers came and decorated the Playhouse, set up holiday craft tables and then ran the most wonderful Holiday Party we could have ever asked for. It was a community event to remember.

So grateful for our devoted community of friends and volunteers for “telling two friends, and so on and so on.” Together we will fulfill our mission!
