Touching Moment of the Week

“Hello GiGi’s Playhouse, Andie speaking.”

“What time are you open until today? We want to drop off some holiday gifts for you to give your kids at your holiday party.”

“Oh WOW! That’s so nice! We’re open until 1:00pm today. Who is this?  Can you tell me your name?”

“Well I’m in a hurry, I just want to come over real quick! I’m not even going to put my makeup on….”

30 minutes later they arrived, several bags in hand containing crayons, coloring books, candy canes.  JoJo and Gina. Sisters. One is the grandma, one is the great aunt of 9 month old Rafael who lives in Brooklyn. Rafael hasn’t been to our GiGi’s yet, but these sweet and generous women wanted to make sure our participants had something special from them for the upcoming holiday season.

We talked, they showed us pictures and video of their sweet Rafael who is just precious. We talked about him, we talked about GiGi’s and what GiGi’s could mean to him today and in the future. We talked about the other ways they are giving to other causes, and how giving is receiving. We hugged at the end. A touching moment was shared.

It is always amazing to see how GiGi’s Playhouse brings out the best in people!  We look forward to sharing more stories like this with you!
