More Than a Donation: Why Becoming a 3.21 Champion Matters

This week, one of our participants walked into the Playhouse, stopped in her tracks, and immediately noticed our brand-new 3.21 Wall.

With a huge smile, she pointed to a photo of herself and proudly showed it to everyone around her. Her excitement was contagious and a wonderful reminder of why we created the 3.21 Wall—to celebrate the community of people who help make moments like this possible.

That moment also highlighted something important: behind every program, every achievement, and every smiling face at the Playhouse are people who choose to invest in our mission.

Our 3.21 Champions are a special group of supporters who make a recurring monthly gift to help sustain the Playhouse year-round. They are families, volunteers, community members, and advocates who believe that individuals with Down syndrome deserve every opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

The People Behind the Possibilities

Every day at the Playhouse, participants build confidence through tutoring, develop healthy habits through fitness programs, learn valuable life skills, form meaningful friendships, and achieve goals many once thought impossible.

What many people don’t see is what makes those moments possible.

As a 100% privately funded organization, every program, every class, every resource, and every achievement celebration are made possible through the generosity of our community.

Their commitment provides something incredibly valuable: stability.

While events, grants, and one-time donations are essential to our success, monthly giving creates a dependable foundation that allows us to plan with confidence and continue offering all programs free of charge to families.

Small Gift, Big Impact

Becoming a 3.21 Champion starts with a monthly gift of just $21, a meaningful number inspired by the extra copy of chromosome 21 that causes Down syndrome.

While $21 may seem like a small amount, its impact grows when combined with the support of others who share the same commitment.

Monthly donations help provide:

  • Free educational and therapeutic programs
  • One-to-one literacy and math tutoring
  • Fitness and wellness opportunities
  • Social and recreational activities
  • Resources and support for families
  • A welcoming space where every individual is accepted and celebrated

Most importantly, recurring gifts help ensure that these opportunities remain available not just today, but for years to come.

Help Us Grow the 3.21 Champion Community

Today, we are grateful to have 12 dedicated 3.21 Champions standing alongside us.

By the end of the year, our goal is to triple that number.

Imagine the impact of 36 monthly supporters helping provide a reliable source of funding for the Playhouse. Together, we can create a stronger, more sustainable future and continue expanding opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome throughout Westchester and the surrounding communities.

Join Our 3.21 Wall

Our new 3.21 Wall was created to recognize and celebrate the individuals, families, and businesses who have committed to supporting the Playhouse through monthly giving.

But the wall is more than a display of names.

It represents belief.

Belief in acceptance.

Belief in achievement.

Belief in the unlimited potential of individuals with Down syndrome.

When you become a 3.21 Champion, you’re doing more than making a monthly donation. You’re helping create opportunities, sustain free programs, and ensure that every participant who walks through our doors continues to experience the joy, confidence, and sense of belonging that make GiGi’s Playhouse so special.

We invite you to join us!

Become a 3.21 Champion with a monthly gift of $21 or more and add your name to the community that is helping build a brighter future for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
