Volunteering with GiGi’s Virtual Playhouse: A Rewarding Experience

Analie’s journey with GiGi’s Virtual Playhouse began because of their sister, who has Down syndrome. Growing up with her, she developed a deep appreciation for individuals with Down Syndrome, enjoying their energy, joy, and unique perspectives. Wanting to give back to this community, Analie decided to get involved with GiGi’s Virtual Playhouse, a decision that has proved to be both fulfilling and meaningful.

Analie is the program lead for GiGi’s Kitchen Adult, where participants come together to cook delicious and healthy dishes from the comfort of their homes. Analie enjoys cooking alongside the participants, who bring their own creativity and excitement to each session.

For Analie, some of the most special moments have been witnessing the pride in the participants’ eyes when they’ve completed a dish. Seeing their faces light up as they proudly show off their creations to the group is a priceless experience. Even more rewarding is watching them take the first bite and seeing their genuine joy and satisfaction. These moments are what make every volunteer hour worthwhile and reinforce how meaningful the work truly is.

Analie has had an incredible experience getting to know such a wonderful group of adults. The joy, gratitude, and sense of friendship shared among the participants are unmatched. Volunteering at GiGi’s is not just about helping others—it’s about learning from them and becoming part of a supportive, uplifting community.

Do you also want to get more involved with your community and change the lives of individuals with Down syndrome all over the world? We need YOU to continue to make a difference so join our incredible volunteer team today! Learn more here
