The Joy of Story Telling

At the heart of our Virtual Playhouse lies something truly special, the joy of storytelling. We are incredibly fortunate to have a dynamic mother-daughter duo who volunteer with us each month to create a magical Storytime experience for our participants. But what truly stands out is the bond they share, not just as mother and daughter but as a team dedicated to making a difference.

Kellie and Ellery are the program leaders of the Story Telling virtual program. They share songs, books, and other language activities. They are also so excited to meet new friends from all over the US and abroad!

“The best part of volunteering is meeting new families and making those connections, and then they become friends! Seeing families for the first time- many who bring babies – and being able to watch them grow into their own little person is what makes volunteering so special!” says Kellie.

Together they are changing the way the world views Down syndrome and sending a global message of acceptance through their volunteer role. As an organization that is 99% volunteer run, we need people like Kellie and Ellery to share their valuable time to enable our virtual programs to run. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, fill out a volunteer interest form today! We would love to have more volunteers with accepting, generous, and kind hearts just like Kellie and her daughter Ellery.
