Hope Takes New York City!

On September 6, 2025, Hope Davis was featured in the National Down Syndrome Society’s Time Square Video Presentation. Her mom, Bridget Davis, describes their experience of traveling to New York City for this amazing presentation:

“We had never submitted Hope’s photograph in prior years and had no intention of doing so until one of Hope’s therapists saw her school photograph and encouraged us to submit it to the Time Square presentation. In the middle of the therapy session, I pulled up the website, filled out the questionnaire and submitted the photograph.

Months passed, and one day the e-mail came, Hope was selected! We were all excited, but Hope’s brother Danny and sister Grace were the most excited. They were (and always are) her biggest cheerleaders. “She’s famous now!” they screamed.

We drove to New York City, making many fun stops along the way, and of course, we mediated many arguments amongst siblings. When we finally arrived to NYC, the energy was electric. We checked in and met all of the NDSS employees and volunteers. We enjoyed an incredible dinner and dessert at the Marriott Time Square overlooking Time Square.

The morning of the presentation, we woke up to the lights and sounds of Time Square, eager to celebrate Hope and all the other individuals with Down syndrome. There was a wonderful feeling of community and inclusivity.

Celebrating Hope is easy. She is incredible and brings our family, and everyone she meets, so much joy. Hope has battled so much in such a short time—open heart surgery, many hospitalizations, laryngeal cleft repairs, ear tubes, adenoidectomy, and the list goes on. But you’d never know–nothing can stop her. We are so proud she is our Hopey!

If you have a chance to submit your loved one’s photograph and they get picked, I encourage you to go to NYC. Seeing Hope on the big screen was amazing!”

Big thanks to Bridget, who is also our Vice President of our Tinley Park Board,
for sharing this incredible experience.
We are so proud of Hope and your whole family!
