Sweet Success at Trunk or Treat!

What a wonderful fall day we had for our Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 25th! The event was filled with fun, creativity, community, and LOTS of candy – of course! We’re so grateful to everyone who came out to enjoy this beloved annual family event.

Take a look through some of these trunks – there was a variety of great themes, including the Wizard of Oz, Minions, a red carpet, a luau, and more.
The creativity was off the charts!

Special shout outs to these organizations who helped to make this event a sweet success:
The Macs Lead Club from Mother McAuley, for donating decorated mini buckets for our trick-or-treaters The Andrew HS P.E.O.P.E.L Program for the cooler FULL of candy
The Little Red Schoolhouse/Forest Preserves of Cook County for having a table and bringing some super cool spiders for our friends to see
The Leo Club from Chicago Christian High School
Providence Catholic High School football
St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, of course, for letting us use their facilities for this, and other fun events!

There is always something special about bringing families together. Every smile, hug, and shared laugh at our events reminds us why community matters so much. Family events aren’t just about having fun – they’re about connection, support, and belonging.

For those from outside the Down syndrome community who participate, they experience our mission in action and carry that spirit into their workplaces, schools and communities – spreading awareness far beyond the event itself. We’re so grateful to those who joined us to make the event bigger and better!

Until next year, friends!
