Best of All: GiGi B

We wanted to share some awesome “Best of All” moments from one of our Playhouse participants, our very own Tinley Park GiGi! At GiGi’s Playhouse, Best of All is the philosophy to do a little better than you did the day before. GiGi B definitely exemplifies this in all her achievements!

GiGi was recently accepted into the National Honor Society and is volunteering here at the Playhouse for her service hours! GiGi has also earned an academic letter awarded to students who have earned honor roll status 8 or more times. She is a part of her high school’s “Just Like You” Club!

Beyond all her amazing academic accomplishments, GiGi is a talented athlete who participates in Special Olympics. In soccer, she played goalie on State champion team. In basketball, her team came in 2nd at State! In track, she runs the 100m dash. She is an enthusiastic member of the Spirit Squad. They cheer for the Unified Basketball team.

GiGi is also a gifted gymnastic, participating in gymnastics weekly and was awarded All Around Champion at her competition in December 2023.

If that wasn’t all amazing enough, GiGi was the top fundraiser in her school for the Special Olympics SPOLY Polar Plunge School Challenge – she took the plunge twice in frigid weather! And, she has been interviewed by Channel 2 (CBS) news as part of a spotlight on the various sports programs at Homewood-Flossmoor High School, as Homewood-Flossmoor was being recognized for being a Unified Champion Banner School. GiGi was also chosen to speak at the Youth Activation Summit at Homewood-Flossmoor that helped to promote inclusion!

She is a huge fan of American Ninja Warrior and aspires to be on the show someday. She dreams of meeting her American Ninja Warrior champion idol, Kaden Lebsack. GiGi is reaching her goals of being a Ninja Warrior – she’s made it up a 10ft warped wall and is currently working on the 12ft wall!

Truly, GiGi is an extraordinary young woman and we are so excited to celebrate all her accomplishments. She has been a big help volunteering for our Open Play 3 & Under program this summer. Check out some of these great pictures!
