Program Spotlight: Achievers

Achievers Summer Session Begins!

The GiGi’s Achievers program empowers adults with Down syndrome with purposeful activities to ensure continued learning and fulfillment of life. This program teaches and promotes communication, self-awareness, independence, health and wellness through community engagement. Each lesson will provide participants with “hands on” learning experiences in a naturally occurring environment. A participant must be 18+ to attend this program.

We are excited to have Colleen Brown leading this session of Achievers! She has created a super fun theme of “Summer Concert Series” for our participants, and they were hard at work this week, examining the ins and outs of concert management!

Participants will explore the various jobs at a concert venue, such as management, ticket sales, food and beverage and merchandising. They’ll also explore various music genres with some special guests; it will be an enjoyable learning experience for all!

Thank you to Colleen Brown for leading the charge for this awesome program!
