My sister is amazing.

We have a very special guest blogger with us today. Lily Dwyer is a wonderful big sister and proud advocate for her little sister, Ava. These girls along with their other siblings are sure to continue the needed work of spreading awareness and more importantly acceptance for individuals of all abilities! We are proud to have both of these ladies as part of the GiGi’s family.

“It hurts me so much that people have so little respect of the people who are struggling with disabilities. That little girl in the corner is not just my sister, she is my best friend, dance buddy, and much more. Honestly I don’t know who I would be without her, she really has opened my eyes to everything. She loves everyone and things everyone is beautiful. She is so positive, yet people make fun of her, the way she looks, talks and learns. No one understands how much that hurts us, my family is trying to get people to see but no one understands.

Dear Ava, I love you more than anything and you are so amazing. You are growing so fast! You are almost 10! I am so proud of you, thank you for being a blessing in my life and inspiring the other two people in this picture to do amazing things. You truly are amazing, I love you so much ~ Lily (Sissy)”

Bravo Lily, you keep using your voice, your actions and your love for Ava to lead the way! You are Generation G!

Beautiful words, Liily! I was yoir sister’s speech therapist when she was 3 &4 and I agree she is a very special person! You both bring so much goodness into our world. Keep speaking out for your sister and setting a good example for others ?

Hey Lilly, wonderful and awakening comments about what should be such a simple subject, acceptance and inclusion. And how appropriate the title of this blog. If Ava were asked she too would probably declare in her own special way, “My sister is amazing!”. Your example speaks to many. Keep up the Great Work! Richard Reilly – The Grandparent Connection.
