The power of Social Media: Meet Hannah Rose

We are thrilled to be offering THREE incredible GiGiFIT programs this summer and are always thankful for the incredible volunteers who make these programs possible!

Today we would like to introduce you to one of our GiGiFIT Adult volunteers, who found us through the power of social media! How cool is that?!

Hannah Rose hails from Staunton, Virginia, and moved to Syracuse in early 2021 when her fiance’s job brought him here. Hannah is a graduate of Northwestern University and was a member of their cross country team. Being new to the area, she is interested in everything Syracuse has to offer and is excited to help GiGi’s in any way she can. We asked Hannah to share a bit about herself, keep reading. 😉

How and when did you first get involved with GiGi’s Playhouse?

I recently discovered GiGi’s Playhouse in February of this year when scrolling through Instagram. Someone had tagged GiGi’s National in a post full of smiles and good vibes and I couldn’t wait to see if there was a way to get involved locally. It just so happened that we have a location right here in Syracuse, which I am excited to become a part of!

What does your role at GiGi’s look like?

GiGiFIT is kicking off this summer where I’ll have the chance to work with the adult’s group. July can’t come soon enough!

What does Down syndrome awareness and acceptance look like to you?

To me, Down syndrome awareness and acceptance means building meaningful relationships and constantly seeking opportunities for empowerment and growth. I think it’s important to celebrate each and every person’s unique skills, interests, personality, etc., and explore their potential. I’m so excited about what this organization has already accomplished and am thrilled to continue learning about and being a part of a group that drives both awareness and acceptance across the globe!

What do you look forward to doing at the Playhouse?

GiGi’s Playhouse has so many awesome programs and activities, but what I’m most looking forward to is getting to know everyone and spending time together. Also, very much so looking forward to the GiGiFIT kickoff this summer!

How do you enjoy spending your free time?

One of my greatest joys is spending quality time with my close friends and family (and their pets!), so I really enjoy traveling around the country to visit everyone. When not traveling, I love to spend time outside, whether that means just sitting by the lake or going on a hike!

What do you want the GiGi’s Playhouse Syracuse community to know?

GiGi’s Playhouse Syracuse has an abundance of such wonderful resources. I’m so thankful to have the opportunity to join this group and I can’t wait to see what’s to come!

Please help us welcome Hannah to Syracuse & the GiGi’s family! Leave her your best Syracuse tip in the comments!
