Generation G from the Experts | GiGi’s Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Center
On World Down Syndrome Day 2016 GiGi’s Playhouse launched Generation G, a conscious decision to be better every day. Be Accepting. Be Generous, Be Kind. Today you can find incredible tools for the community, classrooms, and the workplace this much-needed mission of acceptance at iacceptyou.org.
GiGi’s Playhouse has made significant progress and impact in supporting individuals with Down syndrome, but we have only scratched the surface. Still, new parents are not receiving the encouragement they need from medical professionals. Students with Down syndrome experience discrimination at school and on social media. Qualified adults with Down syndrome can’t access jobs. Dedicated locations, free programs, and positive support do not guarantee long-term success. There is still so much more to do. Without more daily actions to create lasting acceptance, opportunities for present and future generations will falter. Our kids never get to take a break from their diagnosis. Therefore, we will not stop fighting for them.
We asked a few of our amazing self advocates a few questions about Generation G…..
1.Generation G is a conscious decision to be better every day – What is something in your life that you are committed to working on and being better at each day?
2. Generation G is generosity in action. – What are some ways you show generosity (or kindness) in your community?
3. Why is the Generation G mission important to you, your friends, and the community?
4. Why should people join the Generation G movement?
Here is what they had to say…….

It is important for everyone to know what it stands for and I really believe everyone should go out in the community and help others by spreading kindness, love, and understanding. The world will be a better place if more people would work on doing this in our community.
