LMNOP Highlight & ‘Best of All’!

LMNOP is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication using music and language-based activities. LMNOP is recommended for ages newborn to 36 months. Once a month, our families with young ones join us for a themed LMNOP program. We learn 3-6 new signs based around the theme of the month, practice commonly used signs (please, thank you, all done, more, help!), read a book together, practice blowing bubbles (a great OT skill!), play with the parachute and ball pit, and do a fine motor skill activity! We LOVE seeing our babies grow in OT/fine motor and sign language skills, along with learning pre-school activities to prepare them for school one day! Not only is LMNOP a great program for our babies with Down syndrome, but also gives the parents and families a space to connect.

Participant Highlight: Matthews!

We met Matthews and his parents when he was just six weeks old last summer! Matthews and his family come to LMNOP, participated in our GiGiFit Acceptance Challenge, and raised over $2,500 towards our ‘Believe in our Build’ capital campaign to get little Matthews’ picture in one of our new welcome windows. His family is a HUGE supporter of GiGi’s and we love getting to see him grow every month! His amazing parents help him through the different LMNOP activities aide him in learning new skills. Matthews loves the bubble machine and the different sensory bins we use during the program. We are so glad to have Matthews and his family as a part of our Playhouse!!
