Fantastic Friends Super Bowl & “Pal”-entine’s Day Party

Our Adult Program – Fantastic Friends!

By Mia Siino, Self-Advocate & Claire Ramaley, Program Lead and Marketing Committee Member

On Super Bowl Saturday (February 12th) Fantastic Friends hosted our second Annual Super Bowl & Valentine’s Day themed party.

Our ice breaker question was who we were rooting for in the Super Bowl- the Chiefs or the Eagles. Most people picked the Chiefs!

We started our party playing a game; We split into teams and stood in a line all facing the same way. Each team had a different color football (red for the Chiefs, green for the Eagles) and we raced in teams to pass the ball over our heads and under our legs.

Then we made a craft for Valentine’s Day- stained glass hearts- made out of contact paper and tissue paper.

We also made commercials for things we found around the Playhouse. Groups advertised for different items like stuffed baby bears, Christmas trees, and exercise balls. Then each group presented their items to the group. “It was kind of embarrassing but fun” said Mia. Claire adds “The advertisements were great! And very creative- one of my favorites was about a baby bear named Liam Jr.”

After that we had a half time show! People sang karaoke and danced on the stage. We enjoyed Super Bowl snacks of popcorn and people got to choose their own flavors to add.

We also had Valentine’s Day coloring sheets!

Mia’s favorite part of our party was dancing to Justin Beiber’s “Baby” with her boyfriend Liam.

Claire’s favorite part of our party was seeing everyone perform on stage and hanging out with all of our Fantastic Friends!

We were excited to see the Chief’s win the next day!

We had a great time with all of our Fantastic Friends!!
