Why GiGi’s? | Sasha

In October of 2009 we were told the baby I was carrying would have Down syndrome.  Our precious Zoey was born in January 2010 and our journey began!  Zoey grabbed our hands and took us through a gate to the most beautiful world I’ve ever known!

In November 2017 Ruby came home to us from China! Another precious little girl with Down syndrome.  We are now a family of seven and we can’t imagine our lives without these girls!

One thing I longed for so many years was community.  Zoey was five before I really started to find and get to know other families with children with Down syndrome.  It felt like coming home after wandering, to spend time with mamas who “get it.”  I have long since wanted to be a part of helping other families connect and grow together and have wished for a place and space to do so!  GiGi’s Playhouse is that wish come true!
