GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge Kickoff!

What a wonderful weekend full of love, awareness, and acceptance! We connected with and met so many families during Happy Dayz Vineyard’s Rosé for a Cause event and Leatherby’s Family Creamery Fundraiser.

Rosé for a Cause at Happy Dayz Vineyard

We kicked off our Second Annual GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge at Leatherby’s on World Down Syndrome Day! Thank you to everyone who came out to the Elk Grove, Arden, and Citrus Heights Leatherby’s locations. We had so much fun celebrating with our participants and supporters and meeting new families! We passed out flyers about our upcoming GFAC event and met many new potential volunteers.

The GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge (also known as GFAC) is a physical and social movement for acceptance. We are bringing the Sacramento community together for our Tutus and Capes Fun Run!

There is something for everyone! You can choose to participate in the 5k Run, a 1-mile Inspiration Walk (with fun activities along the way!), and a 21 Yard Dash for Down syndrome, where all participants will receive a completion medal! There will be refreshments and food and dessert for purchase from Maria’s Tacos, Hella Halo, and Snowie King!

Our Second Annual GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge will also be our 1 Year Grand Opening Anniversary Celebration! Come in your Tutus, Capes, and Team Spirit; we can’t wait to celebrate with you! We already have 18 teams and have raised over $3,400! Register your team here!

Rosé for a Cause

We are so grateful to Happy Dayz Vineyard for hosting their Rosé for a Cause event to contribute to our Playhouse during the weekend leading up to World Down Syndrome Day. Their venue is stunning, and everyone who attended left filled with joy…and wine! Happy Dayz Vineyard released their 2021 Rosé, dedicated it to the Down syndrome community, and donated 21% of each bottle purchase to US! We are appreciative of their ongoing support and look forward to next year.

And don’t worry – if you weren’t able to attend the Rosé for a Cause event, Happy Dayz will be open this weekend and you can still pick up one of the gorgeous bottles of rosé that benefit the Playhouse (along with all their other amazing wines)!

Leatherby’s Family Creamery

We want to start by saying that the servers at all three Leatherby’s locations were phenomenal! We were blown away by the community showing up to support our Playhouse; each location was packed. Many new families came out together to support us and learn more; some haven’t even been inside the Playhouse yet! Leatherby’s never fails to amaze us with their support for our Playhouse and the Down syndrome community.

We wouldn’t be the Playhouse we are without all of you, Happy World Down Syndrome Day!
