I came in believing I was just a tutor and left feeling I had a gained one of the most beautiful and meaningful friendships I could ever have asked for. In just 10 weeks Mason and I learned so much from one another. He gained confidence in his ability to sound out words and read/match sight words. He also gave me the confidence to trust in myself and believe that together we can progress through the obstacles that stood in our way.  -Erin, Mason’s literacy tutor

The definition of tutor in the dictionary is a private teacher, typically one who teaches a single student or small group.

The definition of tutor at GiGi’s is a volunteer, who believes in our friends, is trained to work at the level of the child they are paired with, continually challenging and encouraging him/her while utilizing a combination of personalized sight word and project-based approaches with commercially developed programs, books, and online resources.

Thank you Erin for making a difference in Masons life, encouraging him along his journey of learning to read! We couldn’t do all that we do without people like you!!
