Thank You – Program Leaders

All programming is offered at no cost to families here at GiGi’s. That is made possible thanks to the program leaders that volunteer their time and talents to plan, implement, and oversee the programs. We are so thankful for our current program leaders and would like to give a shout out to them saying… Thank YOU!

Misty is the new leader for LMNOP (Language Music N’ Our Peeps) for our 0-5-year-old friends. She is a licensed music therapist and has her own business providing music therapy to students of varying abilities. She is also a mom of 4 young children.

Mara leads Leaps and Bounds for our 3-5-year-old friends and she is also overseeing the summer session of Friends, Fun, and Fitness, although it is run by the staff at OC3 CrossFit. Mara recently graduated from St Ambrose college although she is continuing on to receive her Master’s.

Marika is leading the Teen Tastic/Fantastic Friends programs for individuals 13+ and is also overseeing the summer session of Music Therapy, although it is run by Lorna from West Music. Marika is our summer Intern from Augustana College and has taken on these programs plus a few additional roles.

Amber is the seasoned leader of the group, having been leading programs for several years. She is the leader of the Playhouse Pals/Kids Club programs for friends ages 6-12 years of age and she is also the Host Parent/Family for the 2 and Under and Open Play programs. She is a special education teacher and a parent of 4 girls, one that is thriving with Down syndrome.

We are blessed to have these leaders taking time out of their busy lives to provide programming here at GiGi’s. We can’t thank them enough!

We are currently looking for a few additional volunteers to help these leaders. Would you be interested in co-leading a program or becoming a substitute program leader to help fill in when they have calendar conflicts? We’re always looking at expanding the programs offered here at GiGi’s too. If you have a specific talent or skill that you’d like to share with our participants, please let us know!
