GiGi Prep – A Mom’s Testimonial-GiGi’s Playhouse Commitment to “Career Development”

This year, GiGi’s Playhouse Phoenix/Scottsdale expanded operations to include its new Career Development Center.  Two programs are being offered for adults 18+ years of age, GiGi Prep and GiGi U which support our mission to provide programs that support an individual with Down syndrome from birth to adulthood and the development of all our GiGi’s Participants to maximize their individual potential.

The following testimonial is from one of our Participant’s Mom, Linda.  Her son, Daniel attended the GiGi Prep Program and is now enrolled in GIGI U.  Thank you, Linda for sharing Daniel’s experience at GiGi Prep.

“We were very impressed with the GiGi Prep program our son, Daniel, just completed at GiGi’s Career Development Center in Scottsdale, Arizona.

In addition to having a great time being with old friends and making new friends, he has gained many new valuable life skills. His self-confidence, and that of all the participants, has noticeably increased. He understands the goals his teachers taught him and is able to implement them. Daniel was able to write a goal that was measurable, attainable, relevant and time-based. He was not familiar with “Smart Goals” prior to class.

We believe one of the contributors to Daniel’s success was his teachers’ high expectations of him. He has a much greater awareness of the importance of personal fitness, communication and nutrition.

Another reason he met with such great success was due to the fact that most of the volunteers are professional educators and three of the five educators are special education teachers.

Additionally, his teachers demonstrated love and devotion toward all the participants.

GiGi’s Prep program provides young adults with Down Syndrome an opportunity to reach new goals. We look forward to Daniel’s participation in GiGi U.”
