This list serve is a community group email with over 100 families in the New York Metropolitan area. This is a group email where you can ask advice, find a therapist or doctor, share your joys, trade in your therapeutic toys, and generally share community resources. (if you wish to limit the amount of email you get each day, choose ‘daily digest’ instead of ‘individual emails’ and you will get only one email per day with the entire day’s correspondence.

advocates-for-children-logoAdvocates for Children of New York (AFC) serves New York City children and youth, from birth through age 26, who are struggling in school or experiencing school discrimination of any kind. We have over 40 years of experience protecting and promoting the rights of students with disabilities. We offer free advice and information on any school-related issue via our Education Helpline (866-427-6033 Mon-Thurs, 10 am-4 pm); informative workshops and a wide range of free resources, such as tip sheets and guidebooks, to help parents advocate on behalf of their children’s educational rights; and free legal counsel and case advocacy to families from low-income backgrounds, including representation at school-related hearings and appeals.

Verónica Labarca (una practicante de Chile en nuestra Playhouse) fundó esta plataforma social para compartir su trabajo durante los meses de Enero y Febrero del 2015 en GiGi’s Playhouse NYC haciendo este centro comunitario más accesible a las familias de habla Hispana.
