Advocacy and Awareness are Blooming like Flowers

On World Down Syndrome day GiGi’s Playhouse NYC stood on a stage in front of over 350 people in the Brooklyn Museum, arms linked with our sister organizations, National Down Syndrome Society and Lumind (Down Syndrome Research and Treatment Foundation) and announced the launch of 2 months of Advocacy and Awareness:  

                                                                    Dancing for Down Syndrome!  

Dancing for Down Syndrome is a 2-month campaign of  ADVOCACY AND AWARENESS.  Kudos to the 8 families have already designed their family webpage on our website portal and raised a collective $757.000 – Our goal is to raise $55,000.  These funds will be used to spread our community embrace and support throughout the entire New York City area.

The fact it that while 350 families participate in Playhouse programs, it’s estimated that and additional 11,300 may not even know this beautiful community and its elaborate support system exists.  Can you imagine that???!

Help us reach these families by mounting your own person family webpage and sharing your story of loving someone with Down syndrome with your social networks, neighbors and friends.  My experience is that so many people are looking for a way to support our amazing kids!  You can give them this opportunity.
