Show Me A Sign!

Show Me A Sign is a basic sign language class offered every other Thursday at GiGi’s Playhouse McHenry County, this class is open to our families, volunteers and the community.

Several people have attended this class for a few years, coming back time after time to learn new ways to communicate.  This is a quote from Lynn K. who attends the class regularly:  “I am a nurse who works with people who have developmental disabilities, many times I cannot understand what they are trying to communicate to me.  I heard about “Show Me A Sign” from a co-worker.  I went one time and was hooked!  I’ve been attending the class for 2 years now and not only love it, but have learned so much!  Rusty (Host and Board Member) is a wonderful teacher, who makes learning fun.  Can you imagine how thrilled I was when I was able to “talk” to a hearing impaired client who wasn’t feeling well, tell me all her symptoms and I was able to help her!  The best part was afterwards when she smiles at me and signed “thank you”.   Join us for the class every other Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., no registration necessary!
