A Life-Changing Speech Journey with GiGi’s Playhouse

A message from the Higgins family

We want to thank GiGi’s Playhouse for connecting us with Lexie Chol, our amazing Speech and Language Pathologist.

Christian is now 16 years old and has been in virtual speech therapy since 2020, when in-person visits became limited. Living in an area far from stationary settings made it logistically difficult for us to access after-school therapy in person. During that time, Christian’s virtual provider frequently changed therapists, which we believe impacted his progress.

Everything changed once we started working with Lexie. It was as if a switch had been flipped. Christian began engaging with every person he met, answering questions more confidently, and showing a new willingness to participate in conversations with anyone willing to listen. Even his previous therapists noticed the difference, giving us feedback that his growth was remarkable — and the only change was Lexie’s approach!

Lexie’s method in a virtual setting has truly been life-changing for Christian. It has given him a bridge to lifelong success and greater independence. Expressive language is critical to every facet of life, and our entire family is deeply grateful to GiGi’s Playhouse and Lexie Chol for providing this opportunity we never even considered possible before.
