GiGi’s 5K-Dash for Down Syndrome

The annual GiGi’s 5K is more than just a race — it is a celebration of inclusion, community, and the incredible strength of coming together for a shared purpose.

This fun and inclusive event invites people of all ages and abilities to participate in a 5K fun run, 1-mile walk, and Kids Dash for Down Syndrome. Each year, families, friends, supporters, and advocates gather to raise awareness, celebrate individuals with Down syndrome, and support the important work being done within the Down syndrome community.

This year, more than 55 GiGi’s Playhouses and startup locations across the globe will host in-person events, while participants from around the world can also join virtually. Last year, over 275,000 participants took part, helping move us one step closer to creating a more accepting world — and we expect an even bigger turnout this year 🌍✨

The 5K also gives families an opportunity to give back through our peer-to-peer fundraising platform. Participants can create teams, share their stories, and invite friends, family, and their networks to support a cause that has made a difference in their lives. It is a powerful way for families to unite, inspire others, and demonstrate how strong our community truly is when we work together 💪💙All funds raised for this event go directly back to the Hoffman Estates playhouse and help to keep our programming 100% FREE for participants and families.

Whether you run, walk, roll, cheer from the sidelines, or fundraise, there is something for everyone to enjoy. More importantly, this event reminds us that every step taken helps build acceptance, opportunity, and belonging for individuals with Down syndrome.
