Tips for preparing for your child’s IEP meeting!
List out some things first:
1. Your child’s strengths
2. Things that are going well this year
3. Your biggest areas of concern for your child within the educational setting
4. Strategies that work well at home
5. Update from any services/therapies your child is receiving outside of school, if applicable
6. Reminder for staff of food allergies, medical/health info & concerns, if any
7. Any special transportation needs
8. Any specific questions you want to remember to ask
These are important to remember to bring up in the IEP meeting.
“In the world of IEPs and paperwork, if it isn’t written down, it didn’t happen.” Be sure to remember everything that seems important, write it down, and bring it up during the meeting.
