“I can still remember my daughter saying a couple of years ago…
‘Mom I hope when I get older I have a child with Down syndrome,
‘ me- ‘why is that?’
‘Because we always get to do the most fun things with him as a family,’
So true!!! There are so many groups and places to connect with other families that have a child with Down syndrome… They truly show us all the beauty that our child has to offer. Having a child, or loved one with Down syndrome is so much fun! I remember responding:
‘That is so sweet honey, but if you don’t have a child with Down syndrome, don’t worry because your children can always support Uncle Owen or your local GiGi’s Playhouse or Down syndrome community! There are plenty of ways you can get involved!'”
