October 23rd- Buddy and Taylor

“My husband and I were just coming out of our teen years when we found out we were going to bring our blessing with Down syndrome into the world.

After the diagnosis I had termination offered to me almost every visit. The doctors would tell us, ‘You have such a bright future, you don’t want this burden’, or ‘He will never be able to walk or talk.’

It was never an option for us. This baby was wanted!

Our family had a hard time adjusting to the diagnosis but they have been his greatest support. His favorite person is actually his Jiji

Buddy is the kindest and most amazing soul. His smile lights up a room and his laughter has the ability to cheer any stranger up. He runs, swims, dances, and sings. He loves his life and family. We couldn’t picture a life without him.”

Buddy is involved in Preschool Prep, Destination Discovery and literacy tutoring at GiGi’s Playhouse Fox Valley.
