Abi was one of those unexpected surprises that can really make a BIG impact.  Thank you, Abi, for a great 10 weeks!  You are always welcome to come back!!!

Thank You GiGi’s Playhouse Fox Valley!

“As I got the call at college this past spring that sent me home, the call that we all got at some point this year, I was devastated. I had plans for the summer that involved staying at my school! Never would I have imagined, though, that in the midst of a pandemic, as I was back in my hometown, GiGi’s Playhouse would welcome me in with open arms. In the midst of chaos and an overwhelming transition to virtual programming, Katie took me on as an intern and showed me the ropes. So I want to say thank you!

Thank you GiGi’s family for welcoming me immediately. When I introduced myself on social media, many of you sent me pictures of your families, and I felt so connected, even at home.

Thank you to all of the volunteers who were willing to let me interview them! It was an honor to hear each and every one of your GiGi’s Playhouse stories.

Thank you to every participant I met for showing me you Best of All. You amaze me and push me to do the same.

Thank you Katie for not only teaching me professional skills virtually in the middle of the pandemic, but for also listening so well and letting me take ownership of my work.

Thank you all for showing me what it means to be a part of GenerationG. I will continue to be more accepting, generous, and kind.

Because of this amazing experience, I hope to continue involvement with GiGi’s Playhouse in the future! I am particularly interested in GiGi’s Mexico, as I am a Spanish minor. As I leave and a new set of interns comes in, I am so excited to see how our playhouse family will grow with such a big team! I hope that when I come back and visit next, I get to meet each and every one of you in person at our playhouse!”
