Six Cuties on a Couch

BBs on Couch1

Six cuties on a couch. That’s what cameras captured at the 2 & Under Playgroup this past weekend at GiGi’s Playhouse in Fargo. This picture was taken toward the end of group. Clearly, these kids had fun. You can see it on their faces. But, there’s so much more you can’t see.

Behind the cameras are six moms, bonded by their babes and giggling at the sight before them. For the past hour they’ve been able to share their stories, successes and struggles, all thanks to GiGi’s.

“It was a great experience for us” says Alecia Berndt. It was Alecia’s first time at GiGi’s. Her 6 month old son, Zander, has Down syndrome. “Met some wonderful people… can’t wait to go again!”

Cameras also failed to capture the hard work and planning put into the playgroup by volunteers. This playtime had purpose. Finger painting gave the toddlers a chance to fine tune their fine motor skills, while circle time taught language and listening skills through song.

Pictures certainly show the fun, but they can’t possibly capture the appreciation our families have for such a generous community of supporters. From Giving Hearts Day to the Annual GiGi’s Festival & Walk, your support is changing lives and growing dreams.

So, the next time you see a picture posted on our Facebook page, blog or website, remember the camera only captures a fraction of the picture. The real magic, you’ll have to see in person. Whether you’re a parent with a new diagnosis, the sibling of someone with Down syndrome or someone with big heart looking to volunteer, please feel welcome. The pictures you see are just a taste of the love waiting inside GiGi’s Playhouse Fargo.
